We’ve all been drawn to the “strange and weird” sections
1. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (3DS)
Another year, another chance to join the cult of “Gotta catch them all!” Nintendo continues their addictive series before Pokemon fans risk going into withdrawal.
2. Minecraft (Xbox360)
Never let it be said that simplicity and trust in the user’s imagination to craft their own world and experience won’t be popular. Minecraft is a testament to what giving tools to a player can look like.
3. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare (XboxOne)
The true next-gen iteration of the popular shooter. This time complete with a digital Kevin Spacey and a new take on traditional shooter movement. This is the multiplayer shooter console fans have been waiting for since they invested in their new systems.
4. Destiny (Ps4)
The creators of Halo have given the gaming world one of the most addictive, yet divisive games of the year. It has been widely criticized, but it seems that few can actually put the game down in fear of missing out how the next patch will worsen the play experience.
5. Super Smash Bros 3DS (3DS)
On paper, a portable version of the popular Smash series seems like the golden goose in gaming. The only real question is why it has taken so long for Nintendo to develop it.
6. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare (X360)
While the Xbox One and PS4 are selling exceptionally well, the previous generation can’t be disregarded. The Call of Duty fans will not be left behind.
7. Titanfall (Xone)
It might be an online graveyard at the time being, but Titanfall was the killer app for the Xbox One when it hit earlier this year. It seems to be the best example this year of burning bright and fading away.
8. Mario Kart 8 (WiiU)
There is plenty to say, but really only one image is needed to show the massive impact the new Mario Kart had on the gaming lexicon.
9. CoD Advanced Warfare (Ps4)
PS4 users will not miss out on digital Kevin Spacey and digital Kevin Spacey emotions! For those seeking digital Troy Baker and digital Troy Baker emotions, they had multiple choices this year.
10. Destiny (XboxOne)
Still don’t know how it beat out Cave Shooter this year, but Xbox One players need to hate the Cryptarch as well.
11. GTA V (Ps4)
GTA5 was already a hit with gamers, but bringing it to the next-gen consoles with new and improved graphics and a first-person mode seems to have gotten their attention once again.
12. Watch Dogs (Ps4)
While considered a disappointment by many, Watch Dogs still garnered tons of acclaim and love right before the release. Now if only Aiden could have been given a personality before so many gamers invested their time and money.
13. Madden NFL 15 (360)
Gotta get that football. Don’t need no new age graphics or consoles.
14. Madden NFL 15 (PS4)
Gotta get that football. Love those new age graphics and consoles.
15. The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)
A modern classic reborn that many Sony fans want to keep with them on the leap to the new system. While many also bought it for the improved graphics, few expected the ability to capture screen shots to be such a hit.
