27 Doctor Who Quotes Full of Feels

Doctor Who, the long-running British science fiction show, has spanned not only decades but generations. While the Doctor and his companions change over the years, the stories they tell still bring on all the feelings. Here are a few favorite quotes from the newer incarnations of the Doctor, his friends and his enemies, starting with the War Doctor and finishing up with the Twelfth.

War Doctor

“Great men are forged in fire. It is the privilege of lesser men to light the flame. Whatever the cost.”

“So I won’t remember that I tried to save Gallifrey, rather than burn it. And I have to live with that. But for now, for this moment… I am the Doctor again. Thank you.”

Ninth Doctor

“The ground beneath our feet is spinning at 1,000 miles an hour and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67,000 miles an hour, and I can feel it.”

“You think it’ll last forever: people and cars and concrete. But it won’t. One day it’s all gone. Even the sky. My planet’s gone. It’s dead. It burned, like the Earth. It’s just rocks and dust. Before its time.”

“The TARDIS can never return for me. Emergency Programme One means I’m facing an enemy that should never get their hands on this machine. So this is what you should do: let the TARDIS die. Just let this old box gather dust. No one can open it. No one will even notice it. Let it become a strange little thing standing on a street corner. And over the years, the world will move on and the box will be buried. And if you want to remember me, then you can do one thing, that’s all, one thing. Have a good life. Do that for me, Rose. Have a fantastic life.”

Tenth Doctor

“You can spend the rest of your life with me, but I can’t spend the rest of mine with you. I have to live on. Alone. That’s the curse of the Time Lords.”

“I’ve seen fake gods and bad gods and demigods and would-be gods; out of all that, out of that whole pantheon, if I believe in one thing… just one thing… I believe in her.”

“I’m old enough to know that a longer life isn’t always a better one. In the end, you just get tired; tired of the struggle, tired of losing everyone that matters to you, tired of watching everything you love turn to dust. If you live long enough, Lazarus, the only certainty left is that you’ll end up alone.”

“You’re not dying, don’t be stupid. It’s only a bullet. Just regenerate.”

“I’m the Doctor. I’m a Time Lord. I’m from the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous. I’m nine hundred and three years old, and I’m the man who’s gonna save your lives and all six billion people on the planet below. You got a problem with that?”

“Don’t play games with me. You just killed someone I liked and that is not a safe place to stand! I’m the Doctor and you’re in the biggest Library in the universe. Look me up.”

“I just want you to know, there are worlds out there, safe in the sky because of her. That there are people living in the light, and singing songs of Donna Noble. A thousand, million light years away. They will never forget her, while she can never remember. But for one moment, one shining moment, she was the most important woman in the whole wide universe.”

“I’ve gone too far. Is this it? My death? Is it time?”

“I don’t want to go.”

Eleventh Doctor

“Amy Pond, there’s something you better understand about me because it’s important and one day your life may depend on it: I am definitely a mad man with a box.”

“Oh, Vincent, I’m sorry. I’m sorry, is it too much?”

“We’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Cause it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I was always going to take it back. Oh, that box. Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand new and ancient and the bluest blue ever.”

“I can’t save you from this. There’s nothing I can do to stop this. I stole your childhood and now I’ve lead you by the hand to your death. But the worst thing is, I knew. I knew this would happen. This is what always happens. Forget your faith in me.”

“But that’s how all this started. Jex turned someone into a weapon. Now that same story’s gonna make you a killer, too. Don’t you see? Violence doesn’t end violence, it extends it. And I don’t think you want to do this. I don’t think you want to become that man.”

“Amy, please, just come back into the TARDIS. Come along, Pond, please.”

“When a TARDIS is dying, sometimes the dimension dams start breaking down. They used to call it a size leak. All the bigger-on-the-inside starts leaking to the outside. It grows. When I say that’s the TARDIS, I don’t mean it looks like the TARDIS, I mean it actually is the TARDIS, my TARDIS from the future. What else would they bury me in?”

“The first face this face saw. We all change. When you think about it, we’re all different people all through our lives, and that’s okay, that’s good, you gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not forget one line of this. Not one day. I swear. I will always remember when the Doctor was me.”

Twelfth Doctor

“I’m the Doctor. I’ve lived for over two thousand years, and not all of them were good. I’ve made many mistakes, and it’s about time I did something about that.”

“You looked inside me, and you saw hatred. That’s not victory. Victory would’ve been a good Dalek.”

“That deep and lovely dark. We’d never see the stars without it.”

“Pain is a gift. Without the capacity for pain, we can’t feel the hurt we inflict.”

“Of course… the Earth’s darkest hour and mine. Where else would you be?”
