While actors appear in movies and TV shows, a new trend is hearing them pop up in video games now that the medium is becoming more and more story and character driven. Here are 11 famous actors who appeared in video games.

1. Gary Oldman. He actually lends his voice to many video game characters, such as scientist Daniel Clarke and Sergeant Viktor Reznov in the Call of Duty games. He also worked with Elijah Wood on The Legend of Spyro.

2. Dennis Hopper. He played pron producer Steve Scott in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Burt Reynolds and Gary Busey also lent their voices to the very popular video game.

3. Ellen Page. She played Jodie Holmes in the video game Beyond Two Souls. Ellen Page actually did the character’s motion capture, while the production called for shooting 40 pages of the script a day. Page said it was the hardest shoot she’s ever done, even harder than making a movie.

4. Kristen Bell. She plays Lucy Stillman in Assassin’s Creed. The character was actually modeled after Kristen Bell, while the game developers asked her to voice her. Bell also had her body scanned, so Lucy Stillman could be exactly like her.

5. Elijah Wood. He plays the titular character in The Legend of Spyro. Elijah Wood was offered the role after he did the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Happy Feet movies.

6. Seth Green. He voiced Lieutenant Jeff “Joker” Moreau in Mass Effect.

7. Mila Kunis. She voiced Tanya Winters in the video game Saints Row. This isn’t the first time Mila Kunis did voiceover work; she voiced Meg Griffin on Family Guy and does a few parts in Robot Chicken.

8. Mark Hamill. While he’s mostly known as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars movies, Mark Hamill also voiced The Joker in Batman: The Animated Series. He reprised the villain role for the video game Batman: Arkham City.

9. Christopher Walken. The actor lent his iconic voice to the character George in True Crime: Streets of LA. Walken also narrates the video game.

10. Liam Neeson. He voiced the main character James in Fallout 3. The  game’s producers wanted Liam Neeson in the role as they were developing the character and story.

11. Kiefer Sutherland. He actually did the motion capture and voice for the role of Snake in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Sutherland also played Jack Bauer, the role he made famous on 24 in the video game version of the popular TV drama.
